MURRAY, Ky. — The Department of Art & Design and University Galleries at Murray State University are pleased to announce the capstone exhibitions of seniors who are graduating in the Art & Design program. A virtual celebratory closing reception is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. via Zoom and will be presented via Facebook Live to the public. A fall 2020 senior website will be available virtually for this event so that attendees can see the works as they are discussed. The exhibitions will be on view through Nov. 12, 2020.
In partial fulfillment of their graduation requirements, students pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree are required to present an exhibition of recent works completed during their study at Murray State. With the guidance of an individualized faculty committee and the Director of University Galleries, these capstone exhibitions generally take the form of concurrent exhibitions or small groups of students presenting as a collective within a gallery space. BFA students featured this semester included Rose Bowman of Loretto, Kentucky (photography, oil painting); Ashley Reagan of Paducah, Kentucky (metals, ceramics); Delaney Rogers of Paducah, Kentucky (metals, painting); and Aurora Zwyghuizen of Murray, Kentucky (digital media).
Admission to the galleries is free, and all galleries and Zoom sessions are open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Social distancing protocols and masks are required.
