Department of Organizational Communication and Leadership offers variety of certifications, other graduate programs

MURRAY, Ky. — Murray State University now offers a graduate certificate in health communication, available as a 12 credit-hour program within the Department of Organizational Communication.

The certificate provides specialized knowledge of effective communication practices within healthcare settings. Courses and research are designed to encourage one’s understanding of a variety of communication concepts that are valuable in healthcare-related organizations.

“The Department of Organizational Communication is proud to offer a new online health communication certificate,” said department director of graduate studies Dr. Frances Smith. “This 12-hour certificate is designed to give graduate students a specialized knowledge of effective communication practices within healthcare settings. Additionally, we offer two graduate degree programs and a certificate in organizational dynamics, available fully online. 

“The Master of Arts and Master of Science in organizational communication programs provide knowledge of the critical communication involved in all aspects of organizational life. Our graduates are leaders in their organizations because of their ability to communicate effectively during conflict negotiations, crisis situations, using technology, in team situations, and through interpersonal encounters.”
