MURRAY, Ky. — The Murray State University Office of Multicultural Initiatives, Student Leadership, and Inclusive Excellence held the 14th annual Diversity Achievement Awards Dinner on April 5 in the Curris Center. Dr. SG Carthell, executive director for the Office of Multicultural Initiatives, Student Leadership, and Inclusive Excellence created the program in 2005 to recognize the achievements of diverse student populations.

Special awards were given to students who have demonstrated excellence in academics, service and leadership. Various student organizations were also recognized for their campus impact and commitment to diversity.

In addition to students, Karol Hardison, director of the Murray State University Bookstore, Murray State President Dr. Bob Jackson and Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Don Robertson were recognized for their leadership and advancement of diversity and inclusive excellence on campus.

More than 300 students, family, friends, faculty and staff attended the event.
