The Dr. Sally DuFord-Foley Renewable Fund for Excellence was created as a resource for full-time graduate students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who are enrolled in Murray State’s Dietetic Internship Program. The program’s faculty will be responsible for determining how the money is used each year based upon the greatest needs of students.
“I made the decision to establish this fund because I taught at Murray State for 22 years,” said DuFord-Foley. “I actually created the Dietetic Internship program on campus and I wanted to be able to continue to see it grow.”
The David L. Foley Renewable Fund for Excellence was created as a way to help students who wish to pursue a career in middle school education. To be eligible for this award a student must be a full-time junior, senior or graduate student majoring in middle school education at Murray State. Recipients must maintain a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and will be chosen by the Murray State College of Education and Human Services Scholarship Selection Committee.
“I donated to Murray State because I was in education for many years. I think that Murray State does a very good job with their education program. I received a good education from Murray State and was able to get a job at Calloway County Middle School. I’m just trying to give back what they gave me,” said Foley.
To make a donation to either of these Funds for Excellence, checks should be written to the MSU Foundation (with “Dr. Sally DuFord-Foley FFE” or “David Foley FFE” in the memo line) and mailed to the MSU Foundation c/o 200 Heritage Hall, Murray, KY 42071.
