A film by Murray State University 2007 graduate Daniel Van Thomas will play at Maiden Alley Cinema in Paducah, Ky., this weekend. Revelation Trail is an indie western-horror move that Thomas has been involved with in the past few years.
“Since home really made this film possible,” Thomas said, referencing West Kentucky, “we premiered there back in April to four sold-out screenings and a fifth near capacity, so they’re having us back for an encore. This might be a good chance for current students to see what faculty and alumni have been involved in.”
A number of alumni, faculty and others associated with the MSU department theatre and dance were involved with the film, including:
Bob Valentine (major supporting role)
Donald Fleming (supporting role)
Pamela J. Hamilton (speaking role)
Paul Wurth (composer)
Justin Pennington (percussionist)
Lissa Graham-Schneider (casting assistant)
Collin “Roadie” Buckingham (production assistant, best boy, boom operator, featured extra)
Asia Burnett (associate producer, speaking role)
Matt Markgraf (associate producer, extra, ADR recordist)
Matthew Collins (speaking role)
Devin Metzger (speaking role, assistant fight choreographer)
Michael Ruffin (featured extra)
David Shelton (speaking role)
Jeremy Teague (featured extra)
Brandon Christopher (extra)
A.J. Casey (boom operator, production assistant)
The director of Revelation Trail is John Gibson, a 2003 MSU mass communications graduate. His wife, Candace, a 2008 graduate, served as the film’s costume designer and production manager.
